EU Twinning project to support Israel's Environmental Protection Ministry kicks off
Sixty experts gathered in Tel Aviv on Sept. 9th for the launch of the Israeli ministry's second Twinning project. The two-year project will focus on IPPC, resource efficiency and eco-management. The main goal is to improve environmental regulatory and management tools for the Israeli industry. Read more

 
Components of Twinning Project are launched
Component 1, 2 and 3 of the Twinning project all had missions, including  workshops and site visits:
We had expert missions on the following topics:
  • Material streams (food)
  • Gas stations, stage II and fuel storage (adhoc advice, site visits, workshop)
  • EMAS (Environmental Management and Audit Scheme)
  • Resource Efficiency - planning of component
  • Soil Protection
  • LCP (Large Combustion Plants)
  • Emission Inventory
  • Industrial Wastewater Treatment
  • Air Quality Measurements (stack monitoring)
  • Fuel Storage
  • Hazardous Waste Management

Twinning runs Day and Night
Our Twinning Team successfully completed the Tel Aviv Night Run (10K), advertising the Twinning project in all streets of Tel Aviv, with T-shirts mentioning the Twinning project. The team proved itself to be in excellent physical condition, even after a hard and long day at the office, with 4 experts in 3 different missions. The experts and ministry workers cheered us up from the sidelines

Upcoming Events & Missions
  • A mission on Environmental Management (EMAS)  will prepare next steps in the component
  • Two parallel missions in mid-November on material streams will focus on plastics and food streams, respectively, with experts from UK and Germany
  • Preparation of stakeholders workshop on resource efficiency in December
  • Start of gap analysis for hazardous substances, general inspection of industrial installations, wastewater treatment (end of pipe)
  • Additional mission for fuel storage, including preparation of a manual
  • Additional mission on soil protection
